Tools and materials for knitting a gnome:
Hook No. 2, hook No. 4 (for knitting clothes made of thick yarn), hook No. 1.15 (for knitting an eye).

Making out the face of a gnome. Before sewing on eyes, it will be necessary to make a tightening in those places where they will be located.
Knitting cap for the gnome.

We cut off the white thread, then we knit with a green thread.
30 row: at the beginning of the row we knit 2 ch. for lifting, then 39 sc.
Next, we knit the elastic with a crochet, alternating convex and concave half-columns. How to knit them you can see here: Crochet socks. Master class with step by step photos.
Knitting torso.
Crochet number 2.
1 row: we knit cream-colored yarn. 24 ch. (air loops) we close in a ring.

28 row: (9 sc, 1 kill) – repeat 6 times (60).
29-40 rows: 66 sc.
41 row: 2 ch, then fasten the hook on the opposite side and knit one leg.
We knit blue rows with blue yarn, then we knit the striped part. Legs are just cylinders. In a row I got 19 loops. The striped part was crocheted No. 4 from the same yarn as the cap. Leg length = 21 rows. We finish knitting and similarly we knit the second leg.
Knitting shoes.
We crochet number 4 and thick yarn.
We start with knitting soles, using white yarn.
1st row: We collect 9 ch., Knit 7 sc, starting from the 2nd from the hook of the loop, 3 sc into the loop at the apex. On the other side of the chain we knit 7 sc, 2 sc in 1 loop (20).
2 row: 1 inc, 6 sc, 3 increases, 6 sc, 2 increases (25).
3 row: 1 sc, 1 inc, 6 sc, (1 sc, 1 inc) x 3 times, 6 sc, (1 sc, 1 inc) x 2 times (31).

6 row: 4 sc, 1 inc, 8 sc, 1 inc, 10 sc, 1 inc, 7 sc, 1 inc, 6 sc (44).
We put the knitted sole on cardboard and circle it, cut it out.
We knit the top of the shoe with green yarn.
7 row: we knit in a circle with single crochet columns behind the back wall.
8-10 rows: 1 sc in each loop of the previous row.
Insert the blank cut from cardboard into the connected part of the shoe.
11 row: we knit a half-crochet with a crochet in each loop of the previous row.
12 row: 10 half-columns with a crochet, then alternate convex and concave half-columns, a total of 24 columns. Knitting shoes is very similar to knitting booties for this master class: Crocheted booties for a newborn. Further to the end of the row we knit half-columns with a crochet.
13-14 rows: we knit similarly to the 12th row. We knit convex half-columns above convex half-columns of the previous row, and concave – above concave ones.
15 row: we knit in the same way as the previous two, but skip the curved columns, and we only knit convex ones.
16 row: (3 sc, 1 dec.) – we knit in a circle.
17th row: (2 sc, 1 dec.) – to the end of the row.
18 row: (1 sc, 1 dec.) – to the end of the row.
Next, we knit decreases until the hole is completely closed.
Similarly, we knit the second shoe.
Knitting pens.
Hands are knitted separately. We’ll start knitting with them.
1 row: we knit cream-colored yarn, hook number 2. 20 ch. close in the ring.
2-4 rows: 20 sc.
5 row: (4 sc, 1 inc) – repeat 4 times (24).
6 row: 24 sc.
7 row: (5 sc, 1 inc) – 4 times (28).
8 row: 21 sc, skip 7 loops, close the circle, connecting with the beginning of the row.
Next, we knit crochet in a circle.
9-10 rows: 21 sc.
11 row: 3 sc, we fix the knitting on the opposite side, so that in a circle we get 7 loops. We knit a finger in single crochet columns in a circle.
We knit 4 rows of 7 sc each. Next, we knit decreases, close the hole. Cut the thread, fix it at the base of the next finger and knit it in the same way.
Then we knit the third finger. And then we move on to knitting the thumb.
Now move on to knitting the top of the handle. As well as when knitting a shirt, we will alternate the colors: one row will be knitted with blue yarn, the next blue.
We fasten the thread and begin to knit. We knit 7 rows of 20 sc each. Next, we start knitting increases: (4 sc, 1 inc.) – repeat 4 times (24 loops in a row).
Then we knit 10 rows of 24 sc each.
Next In the next row, we knit connecting posts on the inside, and on the outside – half-columns with a crochet, we thus form an elbow. Then we knit another 10 rows of 24 sc.
Now we begin to knit decreases.
(3 sc, 1 dec) – repeat 6 times (18). We stuff a hand.
(2 sc, 1 dec) – 6 times (12), then we knit the decreases until the hole is completely closed.
Knitting overalls for the gnome.
We collect a chain of air loops with a length equal to the circumference of the waist of the gnome.
We close the chain into a ring and knit 4 rows with an elastic band, then proceed to knitting columns without a crochet. When the length of the fabric is approximately 9 cm, divide the fabric in half and knit each leg separately. Remember how we knitted legs? We do the same.
We knit trousers of the desired length. On the bottom you can also tie 4 rows with an elastic band. Then we knit a bib and straps, sew them to the jumpsuit.
I knitted a scarf with knitting needles.
Enjoy your knitting! With best wishes for creativity, toy author Anna Lavrentieva.
